Mike Arcamone appointed Vice President GM Powertrain Europe

General Motors Powertrain today named Mike Arcamone (48) vice president of GM Powertrain Europe replacing Roger Johansson, who has elected to pursue an opportunity outside of the company.

Currently Executive Director GM Supplier Quality and Development, Mike Arcamone joined General Motors Canada in 1980. After several positions within GM Manufacturing he became plant manager of the St. Therese assembly center in Canada before he moved to the Powertrain organization as plant manager in Livonia, Michigan and Flint, Michigan.

In 2005 he was appointed executive director supplier quality and development within GM Global Purchasing and Supply Chain where he played a key role in successfully transforming separate global purchasing and supply chain groups into one global organization.

Arcamone will be a member of the global powertrain staff reporting to Thomas Stephens, GM group vice president GM Powertrain and will also become a member of the GM’s European Strategy Board, reporting to Carl-Peter Forster, president General Motors Europe.

“Mike’s proven leadership capability and significant Powertrain experience is an excellent starting base for leading the General Motors Powertrain Europe Organization,” said Stephens.

Forster added: “As head of GM Powertrain Europe with its 10 manufacturing plants and 5 engineering locations, Mike will play a major role in our future footprint and will have global development responsibilities for Small Diesel Engines, Diesel Controls, Small Gasoline Engines and Manual Transmissions.”

Mike Arcamone holds a Bachelor’s of Commerce in Business Administration from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, and a Diploma in Business Management from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

He is married and has two sons.
