Andreas Renschler to Direct Global Executive Management Development at DaimlerChrysler

Stuttgart/Auburn Hills -- DaimlerChrysler announced   that beginning January 1, 1999, Andreas Renschler will be responsible for global executive management development for the entire DaimlerChrysler Group. In this new position, Renschler will lead the important process of integrating the international management of the new DaimlerChrysler company. Renschler will report to Heiner Tropitzsch, Board of Management – Human Resources and Kathleen M. Oswald, Senior Vice President - Human Resources. He will also report directly to the two Chairmen Robert J. Eaton and Juergen E. Schrempp.

A Letter of Intent was signed by the governments of Czech Republic and Udmurtian Republic in Russia. DM 500m will be invested in a target annual production capacity of at least 80,000 Škoda Felicias.

Paris, Jan 17, 1999 (Renault) With a view to acquiring a 51% stake in the Romanian car manufacturer Dacia, Renault signs an MOU with the Romanian authorities and State Ownership Fund

Renault today signed a memorandum of understanding in Bucharest with the Romanian authorities and State Ownership Fund to determine the framework for negotiations prior to the acquisition by Renault of the 51% stake in Dacia held by the Romanian State.

 

HANDAR4.GIF.gif (182 Byte)   Toyota will open Theme Park at the Tokyo Waterfront, the MEGA-WEB

Tokyo, Dec. 16, 1998 -- TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION (TMC) announced today the official name of the automobile theme park it has been constructing at the Tokyo Waterfront since May. The name "Mega Web"* was chosen to indicate TMC's hope that the facility will serve as a base for a major communications network between customers and the company.

Mega Web is located within Palette Town, a new theme city developed jointly with other businesses in the ST Block of the Tokyo Waterfront. Toyota's facility is scheduled to open next March.
