Volkswagen announces Personnel changes
|
Wolfsburg - The board of
management of Volkswagen AG today informed its supervisory board that it
intends to increase personnel in the production organisational unit of the
Group during the first half of 2004. Against the background of the
continuing and rapid increase in the significance of the Chinese market,
Dr Folker Weißgerber (62), member of the Group board of management with
responsibility for production, will, in addition to his current tasks,
take on increasing responsibility for this market throughout the Group.
Reinhard Jung (53), currently
head of Volkswagen de México, will, with the status of a member of the
board of management of the Volkswagen brand, take over responsibility for
production for the Volkswagen brand from Dr Weißgerber. In addition, it
is intended that Werner Neubauer (54), today head of the Wolfsburg plant,
become responsible for heading up the central functions of the production
organisational unit at Group level. Both will report to Dr Weißgerber.

The successors to Reinhard
Jung and Werner Neubauer in their current positions will be named when the
above changes are implemented.
As of 1 March 2004, Stefan
Jacoby (45) will take over the newly created position of head of Group
marketing and sales strategy of Volkswagen AG. In this capacity he will
report to the chairman of the board of management, Dr Bernd
Pischetsrieder. In 2001, Stefan Jacoby was appointed chairman of the board
of management and president of Mitsubishi Motors Europe B.V. in Amsterdam.
Previously Stefan Jacoby, a business economist, held various position in
the Volkswagen Group in Germany and abroad. In his last position he was
responsible for the region Asia/Pacific.
