Stuttgart - Dr. Ing.
h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, has broken another sales record in
North America, its most important sales market. With 36,669 vehicles
delivered, unit sales in the completed fiscal year 2005/06 (July
31) outperformed the previous year's figure of 33,974 units by seven
percent.
Growth in the US and
Canada was driven by the sports car model series. Sales of the 911
increased by 18 percent to 12,534 vehicles. The Boxster model series
accelerated by 65 percent to 10,701 vehicles, including 4,591 units
of the Cayman S. The sporty all-terrain Cayenne sold 13,217 vehicles,
a decline of 27 percent compared to fiscal year 2004/05.
As Porsche does not
boost its sales with plant discounts, this development is in line
with lifecycle planning.
