Aulnay Plant (France) Produces its Sixth-Millionth Vehicle
|
Paris - It has been almost
thirty years that, day for day, the first car produced at the Aulnay plant
(near Paris) rolled off the assembly lines: it was a DS model. It is today
with a Citroën C3 that the plant has just crossed the course of the 6
million produced vehicles. C3, the model last launched in production at
Aulnay in 2002, is also manufactured on the plant of Madrid (Spain) and
since a few weeks in Porto Real, in Brazil.
The Aulnay plant is dedicated
to the production of small vehicles: 106, Saxo and C3. Every day, 1 820
vehicles intended for the international market leave the site thus. In
2002, the total production reached 382 600 vehicles (nearly 158 000 C3,
155 360 Saxo and 69 3000 Peugeot 106). With more than 5 400 professionals
exerting 200 trades, the Aulnay plant is the first employer of the
Department of the Seine-Saint-Denis, next to Paris.

|
Since it opened its doors in
1973, Aulnay produced not less than 12 models of car, from the DS to the
CX, while passing by the Visa, the AX, the ZX or the Saxo Citroen side,
without forgetting the 205 and the 106, Peugeot side.
