| Volvo's new D-series wheel loaders combine increased
performance and improved operator comfort to provide higher productivity and lower
operating costs while minimizing environmental impact. Volvo Construction Equipment has
set new standards in wheel loader performance with the launch of the D-series. With
operating weights from 8.2 t up to 52 t, the eight models in the new range incorporate a
number of improvements designed to enhance performance, productivity and environmental
compatibility. The new model lineup includes the L50D, L70D, L90D, L120D, L150D, L180D,
L220D and L330D.
New look
The most obvious visible difference is in the design of the new rear end. Rounded hood
corners and smoother contours on the counterweight provide a modern appearance and
improved visibility, while flat grey paint on the top of the hood eliminates distracting
glare from the sun.
High Performance, Low Noise Levels
Powered by high performance, low emission Volvo diesel engines with a unique twin pump
intercooling system (L70D - L330D), the D-Series loaders feature high torque at low engine
speeds for quick response, and meet all existing exhaust emission requirements. New 500
hour intervals for engine oil and filter changes minimize scheduled down time and maximize
machine availability.
Featured as standard equipment on the L50D and the L150D - L330D, hydraulically driven,
thermostatically controlled cooling fans and separate engine and radiator compartments
help to keep external sound levels as low as possible. Hydraulically driven fans also
provide more efficient power utilization and improved fuel consumption by reducing
non-productive demands on the engine. The L50D, L220D and L330D all meet EU noise 2006
requirements in base form. Models L70D - L180D also meet the requirements when equipped
with an optional EU noise reduction kit (including hydraulically driven fans on models
L70D and L120D).
